Loretta M. Long, 82, Sunbury

SUNBURY — Loretta M. Long, 82, of Sunbury, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at her home.

She was born Oct. 22, 1930, in Tharptown, a daughter of the late James and Catherine (Whary) Britton. She was married to Charles “Sonny” Long who preceded her in death in 2003.

She was formerly employed by Beaver Manufacturing, Shamokin Dam, and Penn Spruce Manufacturing, Sunbury.

Loretta enjoyed crocheting, sewing and reading.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary C. Long and Sharon A. Kunkel, both of Sunbury; two grandchildren, Melissa L. Pawling and Bethann Kazakavage; and one great-grandchild, Wraith M. Pawling.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and six sisters.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury, followed by the funeral at 11.

Burial will be in the Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
