LEWISBURG — Frank Gerald Clark, 89, of Lewisburg, entered into rest at 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at his home.
He was born Oct. 4, 1923, in Vermillion, S.D., a son of the late Frank and Rose (Hancock) Clark.
He resided in Vermillion until his enlistment in the Navy on Jan. 30, 1941. He served his country during World War II in the Cruiser Division TWELVE aboard the USS Montpelier. He met his future wife while docked at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard.
Frank settled in Bucks County and raised a family. He fell in love with the mountains and trees of Lewisburg where he spent many vacations and hunting seasons.
Upon his retirement from the Budd Company, Hunting Park division in 1985, he made Lewisburg his permanent home.
Frank was an avid Walleye and Pike fisherman, spending many happy hours on the Reservoirs of Ontario, Canada.
Frank is survived by his sister, Bonnie Sweany, of Arvada, Colo.; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Deborah and Joseph McCarthy, of Portland, Ore., Carol and Dennis Burkhead, of Langhorne, Karen McKenna and her companion, Harry Medlar, of Levittown, and Kathie and Paul Immordino, of Langhorne; his grandchildren, Francis Burkhead, Michael Burkhead, Megan McCarthy, Erin McCarthy, Jaclynn McMaster and Elaine Immordino; and his great-granddaughter, Sagan McMaster.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Alta Nelson and Iva Lewison; his brother, Alfred “Bob” Clark; his wife, Elizabeth (Betty) Clark and his companion, Betty Erb.
Family and friends are welcome from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Road, Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 with Rev. Ronald Warfle, officiating.
