Harold L. Strouse, 87, Wellsboro

WELLSBORO — Harold L. Strouse, 87, formerly of Elkland, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at the Green Home in Wellsboro.

He was born April 4, 1925, in Berwick, the son of the late Charles and Sarah (Yocum) Strouse. He married the former Doris Ketchum, who preceded him in death on March 23, 1989.

Harold served in the Army during World War II and was a self-employed carpenter.

Harold is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Jerold Beecher, of Horseheads, N.Y., Nancy and Joseph Bleznuck Sr., of Danville, and Diane and Bob Nesbit, of Carlisle; one son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Stacy Strouse, of Lawrenceville; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Kenyon Funeral Home, 214 W. Main St., Elkland, followed by the funeral at 3 with the Rev. Joseph Sellepack officiating.

Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Elkland.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Harold’s memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
