LEWISBURG — Thelma Mae “Till” Ranck, 82, of Lewisburg, died Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born Sept. 14, 1930, in White Deer, the youngest of seven children born to the late Luther H. and Grace V. (Elliott) Hursh. On Aug. 27, 1952, she married Robert B. Ranck. Her death breaks a marital union of 60 years.
Till was a 1948 graduate of Watsontown High School.
She worked her entire career as a pharmacy technician at several local pharmacies.
Till was a member of Faith Chapel United Methodist Church, White Deer.
She was also a member of the Watsontown Chapter # 282 Order of the Eastern Star, where she served as past Worthy Matron and past District Deputy Grand Matron.
Till enjoyed serving as a volunteer at Evangelical Community Hospital. She loved spending time with her family, traveling, going to the beach and reading.
Surviving in addition to her husband are one daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Richard Chalmers, of Lewisburg; one sister, Carmen Wade, of Lewisburg; one brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Lois Hursh, of Allentown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one brother, Nathan Hursh, and three sisters, Mildred Baker, Margaret Taylor and Lena Szutowicz.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Faith Chapel United Methodist Church, 2125 White Deer Pike, White Deer, where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. with her pastor, the Rev. Robert O. Rice Jr., officiating, assisted by the Rev. Wayne Shamer, retired Methodist pastor. An Order of the Eastern Star service will be held at the church at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday.
Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, New Columbia.
