SHAMOKIN —
Susquehanna Valley Center of Hope is opening a satellite counseling office at the Miller Donmoyer Family Health Center, 255 W. Spruce St., Shamokin on Wednesday, March 20.
Center of Hope is a nonprofit Christian organization covering the residents of a five-county area.
Various techniques are provided in a Christian atmosphere with respect to the client’s confidentiality. Established in 2011, the center has provided more than 500 hours of counseling to numerous individuals dealing with various issues including abuse, depression, anxiety, anger, addictions and marital problems.
“I’m excited about the additional location, especially being able to help the people of the Shamokin area. Traveling can be difficult. We want to reach out to those who vitally need our services by giving them easier access,” said Jim Thornton, center director. “Dr. Wayne Miller and Dr. Duane Donmoyer have been especially gracious to us in our endeavor to counsel.”
The counseling sessions are based on a sliding scale and target those who do not have insurance.
The Shamokin satellite office will be available for appointments on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Call 275-2280 to schedule an appointment. For more information visit www.cohsv.org.
