— MIFFLINBURG -- Carolyn Gatty of Mifflinburg is one of two nominees to the state Board of Occupational Therapy, the governor's office announced Feb. 8.
Gatty is an occupational therapist and a regional clinical specialist with Genesis Rehabilitation Services of Kennett Square. State Sen. Jake Corman, R-34 State College, is sponsoring Gatty's nomination.
In her position, Gatty said she helps with program development, mainly enhancing clinical skills of staff that work mostly with older adults, particularly in independent living, assisted living and nursing homes.
If her nomination is approved, Gatty's duties on the board would include any judiciary action and the professional licensing. Approval should come in the spring.
Gatty began as a therapist 1991 after a career in chemistry. She has a bachelor's degree Washington & Jefferson College and a master's degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond.
