BEAVER SPRINGS — M&T Bank recently donated $2,000 to the Five Barley Loaves Food Bank, a local food bank that helps provide food to families that are currently facing economic hardship. Approximately 120-140 families receive canned fruits, vegetables, noodles, cereal, frozen meat, and other non-perishable food items each month.
Five Barley Loaves is open the last Friday of the month from 9 to 11 a.m. The next distribution will be held on Jan. 25. During winter months if Midd-West School District is closed, the distribution will be held the following Friday. The food bank is located at 20210 Route 522 in Beaver Springs, 1.2 miles west of Rayauda’s Restaurant.
“We were so excited when we were notified by Emily Bishop (branch manager of M&T Bank) that Five Barley Loaves was a recipient of a $2,000 donation,” said Darla Webb. “Words cannot express our gratitude.”
Other organizations, families, or individuals wishing to donate to our local food bank may contact Darla Webb at 658-6278.
