LEWISBURG — The SUN Area Chapter of the American Red Cross serving Snyder, Union and Northumberland counties announces it will hold a volunteer recruitment event Wednesday, January 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. at their office located at 249 Farley Circle, Lewisburg (in Brookpark Farm).
The Red Cross is seeking volunteers interested in working in all lines of service especially at blood drives, special events, disaster services, administrative services and service to the Armed Forces. The event is sponsored by Damon’s who are providing snacks for the evening. The public is invited to attend, gather information, tour the facility and speak with staff and other volunteers. “Our mission is only met with the help of thousands of volunteers across the state, joining forces to help us,” said Tom Szulanczyk, Chapter executive. “We can’t do the important work of gathering blood, teaching life-saving skills and helping during times of disaster without our volunteers. They truly are the backbone of our organization,” he added.
Reservations are not required but it is appreciated if interested persons call the chapter to inform them of their intention to attend, at 524-0400 ext. 1603
