LEWISBURG — Union County Treasurer, Diana L. Weikel, reminds dog owners if they need to renew or purchase a dog license for 2013, they are on sale now. Licenses can be purchased at the office of the Union County Treasurer, courthouse in Lewisburg, at Boop’s Sporting Goods, Vicksburg; or online at www.unioncountypa.org or www.padoglicense.com.
Lifetime licenses (tattooing or micro-chipping required) are available only at the Treasurer’s office.
Cost for licenses:
Regular license — male and female, $8.45; neutered male and spayed female, $6.45
Regular lifetime license — male and female, $51.45; neutered male and spayed female, $31.45
Disability or senior citizen license — male and female, $6.45; neutered male and spayed female, $4.45
Disability or senior citizen lifetime license — male and female, $31.45; neutered male and spayed female, $21.45
If the license is issued by an agent rather than the county treasurer, an additional $.50 will be charged. Credit cards are accepted only at the Union County Treasurers office. A convenience fee of $2 per license by the vendor is applicable.
Seniors must be 65 yeas of age or older at the time of application. Disabled must show proof (receiving disability insurance or Supplemental Security Income).
A birth date is required for senior citizen dog license and lifetime license. A telephone number is required for all licenses.
