SELINSGROVE — April 15 is just around the corner. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program offers free tax preparation. Union-Snyder CAA and AmeriCorps have partnered with the IRS to help low to moderate income individuals who are not able to prepare their own taxes. This program is limited to those filing non-itemized returns.
A qualified volunteer will assist in filing taxes and assess if qualifications for certain tax credits are met. This program is offered through the Union-Snyder Community Action Agency and AmeriCorps at the Snyder County East Building (formerly the Selinsgrove CareerLink) at 713 Bridge St., Selinsgrove. There will be sites available in Selinsgrove and Lewisburg. For more information and to schedule an appointment, call AmeriCorps member Laura LaGrave, or Janet Bilger, at 374-0181.
