WILLIAMSPORT — The First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania (FCFP) has over $101,880 available to grant to nonprofit organizations from its Mini Grant Fund. Applications are being accepted for 2013 funding.
The Mini Grant Fund offers grant awards for small requests through a competitive grant process from registered nonprofit organizations in Union County and Williamsport and Lycoming County. This fund assists a broad range of charitable projects, serving organizations with missions relating to arts and culture, education, health and human services, youth, environment and economic development and supports requests for capital improvements, equipment and technology and program enhancements.
Grants are made possible each year through endowed funds at FCFP. The Community Foundation honors donors’ intentions by investing the principal of gifts to generate income that can be used for grants to benefit the community annually. These unrestricted funds make the Mini Grant Fund possible.
Application deadlines and request amounts vary depending on the specific service area. Application postmark for organizations that service residents of Union County is Jan. 1; maximum request of $5,000. The Williamsport & Lycoming County application deadline is March 1; maximum request $10,000.
Complete guidelines and a printable application are available on the Community Foundation’s website www.fcfpartnership.org under Grantmaking, Funding Opportunities. For additional information, contact the Grantmaking Office toll free at (866) 901-2372.
The Community Fund exists to build a charitable reserve people can count on now and in the future. The Community Foundation is a means by which people who wish to leave a true legacy can provide enduring support for the causes they love. Through partnerships among the Community Foundation, its donors, and nonprofit organizations, dreams become a dynamic reality for those who call our communities home.
