    ALMEDIA — Alyssa Shaw singled in the first inning, but she didn’t have another hit until the eighth when her solo home run ultimately gave Danville a 1-0 Heartland Athletic Conference crossover victory over Central Columbia on Thursday.
    Shaw, as well as Rachael Herman, both finished the game 2-for-4 for Danville (3-2).
    Herman also had a double for the Ironmen.
    Taryn Beaver tossed an eight-hit shutout for Danville.
    Central falls to 1-4.
