RIVERSIDE — Applicants for Riverside’s police officer vacancy have been traveling from all over, according to borough secretary Deborah Bausch.
Since March 4, 16 would-be officers have applied for the position. One drove two hours from Bethel Park while another came from New Jersey to pick up an application.
Sign-up forms first became available on Feb. 25, with March 25 being the final date to turn them into the borough office.
Applicants must have reached their 21st birthday and be properly certified before that date. The starting salary for the position is $32,240.
