Globe-trotting musician to play Danville's Old Forge Brewing Company next week
Musician Mark Sosnoskie played bass with his band Marah during a 2011 tour of Spain. Sosnoskie, of Shamokin, has been a member of Marah for about three and a half years now. He will be performing a solo act at Danville’s Old Forge Brewing Company next week.
Old Forge Brewing Company will play host to one of its own the night of June 27 when professional musician Mark Sosnoskie plays his first show at the establishment.
Mark Sosnoskie has bartended at Old Forge on-and-off for the past two years, when he hasn’t been performing with his band, Marah. His performance at the Old Forge Brewing Company will run from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

DHS students benefit from credit union's school branch
Ryan Troup, a Danville graduate of 2005, poses with Danay Knorr, a graduate of the class of 2012-2013. Both benefitted from the Service 1st co-op program run through Danville High School.
While the current class of Danville High School has already moved on to the next stage of their life, a few students felt they were given an extra leg up by Service 1st Federal Credit Union.
Danay Knorr, part of the senior class who graduated on June 7, has been working part-time at Service 1st since December as a service representative at the credit union’s DHS branch. “I thought this would be a really great opportunity to broaden my job skills,” said Knorr. “Everybody needs a bank or credit union.”

Nameless donor helps fund Eagle Scout project for homeless shelter
Mark Hilkert sits at the future site of his pavilion, in front of Danville’s Gate House homeless shelter. A donor gave him approximately $2750 to finish funding the project.
A donor has covered the remaining money needed for an Eagle Scout’s $4000 pavilion construction at the Gate House homeless shelter.
Mark Hilkert, 16, of Danville’s Troop 39, had previously raised about $850 from a spaghetti dinner hosted on June 2 at the St. Joseph School cafeteria. He made approximately $400 more in donations and had been planning to contact local businesses for financial assistance before he met with his donor on June 13.
