PITTSBURGH (AP) — A 3-year-old girl is dead after darting out into a Pittsburgh street and getting hit by a pickup truck.
Police say the driver stopped immediately after hitting the girl Thursday evening in the city's Lawrenceville neighborhood and has been cooperating with the investigation. The girl was rushed too Children's Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Pittsburgh Police Cmdr. RaShall Brackney says the child was visiting the neighborhood when she was hit. He says her guardian has been notified.
