Military says Pennsylvania Marine killed in Iraq

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Military officials say a North Carolina-based Marine has died in Iraq.

The Department of Defense announced the death of 22-year-old Lance Cpl. Robert D. Ulmer of Landisville, Pa. Officials said he died June 5 as a result of a non-hostile incident in Anbar province.

Ulmer was assigned to 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, II Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group, II Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Lejeune.

The incident is under investigation.
