State trooper injured by chemical

TAFTON (AP) — A Pennsylvania state trooper is recovering from an injury he got from a chemical dripping from a leaky truck.

It happened Tuesday at a rest area near the Tafton exit of Interstate 84 in northeastern Pennsylvania.

Trooper Bill Satkowski says the injured trooper was airlifted to a hospital. Two other troopers and three highway inspectors were taken to a hospital as a precaution. Police say all are expected to make a full recovery.

Hazardous materials workers were called in to clean up the chemical. It was not immediately clear what type of chemical injured the trooper.
