INDIANA (AP) _ Emergency personnel in Indiana, Pa., have evacuated residents within a 900-foot radius of a home as a precaution after the discovery of explosives in a home.
The Indiana County Emergency Management Agency says the explosives were found at about 9:20 p.m. at the Philadelphia Street home. The Allegheny County Bomb Squad was called.
The county hazmat team and police and firefighters went door to door to tell residents to leave.
Chief John Colananni of the Indiana Fire Association says the American Red Cross set up a temporary shelter at the West Station along Indian Springs Road in White Township.
Motorists are also being diverted from surrounding streets while crews wait for the bomb squad.
