UNIONTOWN (AP) — A state appeals court has upheld a former Fayette County man’s 40- to 80-year prison sentence for using his truck to ram a motorcycle, killing his ex-girlfriend and the driver.
Edward Belch, formerly of McClellandtown, was given the maximum punishment for his third-degree murder convictions in the May 2005 deaths of 44-year-old Terri Lynn Gresko, of Edenborn, and her boyfriend 54-year-old Thomas Myers, 54, of Masontown.
Prosecutors said Belch chased Gresko and Myers and rammed his truck into the motorcycle, driven by Myers, in German Township, about 40 miles southeast of Pittsburgh.
Belch sought to have the sentence modified, but the Superior Court said the trial judge acted appropriately.
