SUNBURY -- It's Presidents Day and with a short week ahead, let's get right down to it before you get "licked."

This week there are a few important meetings, an interesting play, a visit from a U.S. Congressman and a few celebrities visiting the Valley.

1. On Tuesday Republican U.S. Rep. Tom Marino will visit Middleburg and tour Northway Industries.

Northway has been in business for more than 40 years and provides contract manufacturing services to the wood related industry. Northway employees more than 100 employees and Marino is set to visit and shake hands and tour the 93,000 square-foot factory.

2. On Thursday the Shikellamy school board will meet to discuss several issues, but the one that may be on the minds of those in attendance is who is going to run the district for the next 30 days.

District superintendent Robin Musto has taken a leave absence for the time being and the board will have to make a decision on who will call the shots.

Board members have said that district business manager Dave Sinopoli may be the choice.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m.

3. Thursday will also be a big day for Northumberland Borough residents as they face a stray cat problem.

Several residents have complained about the alley cats becoming a nuisance and council members must decide what sort of ordinance they will put in place.

Other residents don't want to hear the proposed catch and euthanize method the borough suggested so tensions may be brewing inside the borough building starting at 7 p.m.

4. The Weis Center at Bucknell University will present the Walnut Street Theatre's production of "Proof" by David Auburn on Friday.

"Proof," is the story of a young woman who didn't go to college because she had to take care of her father.

He was brilliant, yet mentally ill. Go figure.

The university always puts on a good show and that begins at 8 p.m.

5. If the play isn't up to your standards, then take a ride to Shamokin Area High School where the stars of the hit television show, "Lizard Lick Towing & Recovery," will be presenting "Lizard Lick In The House" with Ron and Amy Shirley from the network TruTV.

The local band Deuce will kick the show off at 5:30 p.m. The event is presented by The Daily Item and The Danville News and the Parent-Teacher-Student Association.

Tickets are $20 and proceeds benefit Newspapers in Education and the Shamokin PTSA.

Ron Shirley began Lizard Lick Towing & Recovery, located in Lizard Lick, N.C., in the spring of 1998. The stars specialize in the repossession of all types of collateral, including cars and boats.

Enjoy the week and if all else fails, go get "licked."
