Suspect arrested in Lancaster slaying

LANCASTER (AP) — Police in south-central Pennsylvania have arrested a suspect wanted for the shooting death of a man in his home Tuesday morning.

Lancaster police said Thursday that 23-year-old Charlie Jose Rivera-Rodriguez will be charged in the slaying of 28-year-old Anthony Swaydis. Police say he had a handgun with him when he was arrested and tests will be conducted to determine if that is the gun used to kill Swaydis.

About 45 minutes after Swaydis was shot, 38-year-old Hector Fuentes was shot and killed half a block away while walking to a bus stop to commute to work. Police haven’t said if the two killings are related.

Lancaster is about 60 miles west of Philadelphia.
