Body of man recovered, nephew still missing

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A man whose body was recovered from the Delaware River near Philadelphia before a search for his nephew was suspended has been identified.

Authorities identified the man as 43-year-old Hector Rosa of North Philadelphia. They did not identify the boy, whose body was not found.

Rosa and his 11-year-old nephew were on a 16-foot recreational boat Friday evening when the boy fell in the water and Rosa dove in to save him. Philadelphia police said the current was swift at the time.

Rosa's body was recovered Saturday near the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge linking Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

The Coast Guard, the Philadelphia marine police, and the New Jersey State Police then stopped dragging the river and suspended the search Saturday afternoon.
