Man crosses Pittsburgh river on 200-foot-high wire

PITTSBURGH (AP) — High-wire walker Nik Wallenda has crossed the Allegheny River on a cable suspended 200 feet in the air.

Wallenda took the 1,000-foot walk on a cable about the diameter of a nickel with no net below. Friday evening's feat began the EQT Pittsburgh Three Rivers Regatta, which continues through Sunday.

In October, Wallenda set a Guinness Book world record for the longest distance and greatest high wire height ever traveled by bicycle. He rode a bicycle 150 feet 20 stories in the air from the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.
