SELINSGROVE — Students from Selinsgrove Elementary School and Selinsgrove Intermediate School recently celebrated Red Ribbon Week. This week is dedicated towards teaching children the dangers of drug use and promoting safe and healthy choices. The school’s theme for this year’s celebration was “Knowledge is the Key to a Healthy Me.”
As part of the week’s festivities the children participated in a penny drive at school to raise money for the new Selinsgrove Library — as the library will filled with books to help children’s lives be enriched with knowledge to make safe and healthy choices. The two schools combined raised $2,797.56 for the Selinsgrove Library.
At the elementary school, students from Michelle Resseguie’s class, Jamilee Scandle’s class, and Tiffany Hess’s class raised the most money in their grade levels. At the intermediate school, students from Chip Moll’s class, Jenn Debo’s class, and Katy Hribar’s class raised the most money at their grade levels. Those classes will be rewarded with a pizza party.
