WATSONTOWN — DeLane Jean Simmons, 79, of 569 Fisher Drive, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at her home.
She was born March 2, 1933, in Milton, a daughter of the late Abram C. and Ardis M. (Kelly) Muffly.
DeLane was a 1950 graduate of Danville High School. She was employed at American Home Foods, Milton for over 30 years.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Watsontown.
DeLane loved her home, working in her back yard with her flowers and feeding the birds that came to visit. She enjoyed making crafts and was a fan of Penn State football.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, David and Mary Simmons, of Michigan; two sisters, Ardis Bucher, of White Deer and Lavarnie Johnson, of Georgia; three grandchildren, Amy Simmons and Adam Simmons and his wife Holly, all of Michigan, and Ashley Simmons, of New Jersey; and three great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Milo and Vincent Simmons.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Terry and Ray Muffly.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
Burial will take place in Watsontown Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 401 Main St., Watsontown, PA 17777.
The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St., Watsontown.
