SELINSGROVE — Renowned rap and reggae artist Snoop Dogg will headline the annual fall concert at Susquehanna University on Oct. 5 at 9 p.m. in Weber Chapel Auditorium. Sponsored by the Student Activities Committee, the concert is open to the public.
Known for such hits as “What’s My Name” and “California Gurls,” Snoop Dogg has been nominated for 12 Grammys and numerous MTV Video Music Awards.
Born Calvin Broadus in Long Beach, Calif., Snoop Dogg began his career as a featured rapper on Dr. Dre’s album “The Chronic” in 1992. He then released his first album, “Doggystyle,” in 1993. His most recent album, “Doggumentary,” was released in 2011 and includes his trademark street raps as well as unpredictable collaborations.
Aside from his music career, Snoop Dogg is also a television and movie star, the founder and coach of a successful youth football league and an adapter of new technology.
Concert tickets are $20 for Susquehanna students and $30 for the public. They can be purchased at www.missiontix.com/snoop.
The Student Activities Committee is the main programming organization on campus responsible for planning events for students. Past fall concert performers have included DJ Pauly D, Neon Trees and Jason Mraz.
