— Shade Mountain Winery’s Harvest Festival takes place today and Sunday at their Route 104 location. All sorts of things wine will be going on, including — are you ready for this? — grape stomping with live fiddle music by Beverly Conrad at 1, 2 and 3 p.m. The Pepper Street band will also be on hand from 3-6. The event itself is from 10-6 today and noon to 5 Sunday.
More festival and music fun today. The Midlife Cowboys have shows at noon, 2 and 4 at Rohrbach’s Farm Market’s fall festival, on Route 487 between Catawissa and Elysburg. The Jay Vonada jazz trio will perform from 12-1 at the Aaronsburg Fall Festival. That’s out Route 45 a ways, but it’s a fun event.
The Countryside Contra Dancers’ monthly dance is at the Heiter Community Center, 100 N. Fifth St., Lewisburg, from 7:30-10:30 this evening. Bob Nicholson calls the dances to live music by Ryck Kaiser and Jill Smith. Wear soft shoes and comfortable clothes and come and have fun for $8.
Also today, Greg Burgess and Beverly Conrad are at Penn’s Tavern in Fishers Ferry, south of Sunbury on Route 147, from 6-9 p.m. And Brews n Bytes on Lower Mulberry Street in Danville features Woody Wolfe, Alf Bashore and John Sweeney from 6:15-7:45, followed by Tim Farley from 7:45-9.
