Winter art classes to be held at Packwood House


LEWISBURG — Packwood House Museum’s winter 2010 session of art classes will begin on Jan. 12 and extend for a six-week term that ends on Feb. 17.

Jane Albin and Betsy Maguire will again bring their art training expertise to the museum to reach out to both new and continuing students. The fee for each class is $60 payable by the first class. The classes are:

n Drawing and Design, Betsy Maguire. Projects will include contour drawing, shading techniques, and elements of strong composition. All materials are provided. All levels of students are welcome.

Section 1: Tuesdays from 4-5:30 p.m., Jan. 12-Feb. 16, ages 12-18.

Section 2: Wednesdays from 10-11:30 a.m., Jan. 13-Feb. 17, ages 9-11

Section 3: Wednesdays from 4-5:30 p.m., Jan. 13-Feb. 17

n Beginner Watercolors, Jane Albin.

Learn basic watercolor techniques. Materials are provided for this refresher or good introductory class, ages 15 to adult.

Section 1: Tuesdays from

10-11:30 a.m., Jan. 12-Feb. 16

Section 2: Wednesdays from noon-1:30 p.m., Jan. 13-Feb. 17

To register, call the museum at 524-0323, or send an e-mail to info@ packwoodhousemuseum.com. Please include names and ages of all students. The museum is located at 15 N. Water St. in Lewisburg, and is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through

Saturdays. The museum will be closed for winter break Jan. 4 through Feb. 5, and reopens on Feb. 9. Even though the museum is closed for tours, the staff is there to answer calls.
