Impress the one you love

Guys, want to make a good impression on that special lady for Valentine’s Day? Take her somewhere special for a romantic evening of dining and dancing.

Ladies, if your special guy is somewhat shy, quiet and reserved, take it upon yourselves to set up a rendezvous for two with music and good food.

You don’t have to go far to do so, with special Valentine’s Day weekend events happening all over the Valley. Around the region, there’s music, lovely food, and chocolates for your special valentine.

Danville’s contribution to love takes place on Valentine’s Day itself at Brews N Bytes, with a fabulous gourmet dinner with your choice of salmon or a vegetarian dish. Dinner at 6 p.m.

with music by Duo Tambura, a Cubaninfluenced pair. Call 275- 8666 for more information and reservations.

There are several choices events on Saturday night, the day before Valentine’s Day.

Over in Coal Township, Nos Trovia, at 1000 State St., is offering a dinner dance with music for dancing by Shama Lama Band. The doors open at 5:30 p.m., with an Italian buffet dinner at 6:30. The music starts at 7:30. Call 274-2864 for more information and reservations.

Italian food must be the food of love, as a dinner and dance at The Packer House, 24 N. Third St.

in Sunbury, will feature modern Northern Italian cuisine in a five-course prix fixe dinner including wine and champagne.

Dinner reservations will be accepted for 6-7:30 p.m., and Ann Kerstetter and the All Star Band of Cronies will perform from 9-11 p.m. for your listening and dancing pleasure. Make your reservations now by calling 374-0663 or 975- 9523.

On both Saturday and Sunday, the Shade Mountain Winery, on Route 104 between Penns Creek and Middleburg, they will celebrate with wine and chocolate truffle pairings from 1-5 p.m. There will be several varieties of wines to accompany delectable chocolates from The Sweet Spot of Montrose, and on Saturday, Kimbo Reichley will be on hand with music and song from 1:30-4:30 p.m. Call the winery at 837-3644 for further details.

Finally, Into the Spin, an exciting eight-piece dance band, will be in the house at the Lewisburg Club, 131 Market St., Lewisburg, on the evening of the 13th from 9-midnight with great dance music of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. There is a cash bar, and this is an all-age show with great music and arrangements just for dancing. Tickets for this dance are $10 at the door.
