— Tonight, the Friends of Shikellamy State Park sponsors a free show at the Shikellamy Overlook. The Blind Chitlin Kahuanas will hold forth from 6-9 p.m., so bring a lawn chair or a blanket and come on up to enjoy the music. And, if you’re of age, Spyglass Ridge Winery will be on hand with samples of their wares.
Or, you can visit the Riverhouse Brewpub on Route 405 across the river from Lewisburg and hear Ricky and Harv from 7-9. Or catch Milltown Blues in Lincoln Park in Milton from 6:30-8 p.m. Or maybe the Shade Tree Mechanics at the Commons at Market and Pine streets in Selinsgrove from 6-7:30. Hmm — seems like a night for the blues.
Our good buddy Van Wagner, who opened for John Hammond last Friday at the steaming, jam-packed Campus Theater in Lewisburg, is at the Old Forge Brewing Co. on Mill Street in Danville tonight, too. It’s a double whammy for Van, in that it’s his birthday today and it’s the “official” release party for his latest CD, “Flood Sessions, Four Days of Rain,” from 7-9 p.m.
