Tonight Lewisburg’s 14th annual Stroll Through the Arts Weekend continues with Dance to the Music -- four bands in four venues, including the Folk Justice Band at the Brasserie Louis at 101 Market St. from 8-10 p.m., the Jay Vonada Trio at the Bull Run Tap House, 605 Market, from 9-11, the John Sweeney Blues Band at the Temperance House at 50 N. Second St. from 9-11, and Wingmen at the Towne Tavern, 600 Market St., from 10-midnight.
The new Elias Center for the Performing Arts on South Fifth Street in Mifflinburg holds its inaugural event tonight when Judy Marti, a Commonwealth Speaker, presents “A Banjo Pickin’ Girl.” Marti studied with the famed Ola Bell Campbell, and now she shares her knowledge with others. The program is free. Marti will hold a workshop for banjo players (bring your banjos, she urges) from 6-6:45 p.m., followed by a performance at 7 p.m.
Also tonight the Frank Wicher Band is at the Shamokin Dam Fire Co. on the Old Trail from 8:30-11:30 p.m., and Van Wagner entertains at McGuigan’s Public House in Sunbury from 7-9 p.m. Ricky and Harv will be at the Turkey Hill Brewing Co. near Bloomsburg, starting around 9 p.m., for a couple of hours of good time music.
Out at the Elk Creek Cafe and Ale Works in Millheim, the Wiyos, a great Americana band from New York, is the featured band for a show at 8 p.m.
