Millersburg tallied a pair of 100-yard rushers and only gave up two East Juniata touchdowns as the Indians defeated the Tigers, 35-14 on Friday night in a Tri-Valley League game.
Travis Lamereaux ran for 111 yards on just eight carries, including breaking a 96-yard touchdown run late in the second quarter. Josh Howard also ran for 106 on 10 carries while throwing for 67 yards.
Millersburg opened the game with an interception return followed by a 62-yard Howard run to put East Juniata down, 13-0. The Indians scored 28-unanswered points before East Juniata put a score on the board.
The Tigers’ offense was led by Caleb Gehman, who ran for 83 yards. Gehman scored East Juniata’s final touchdown late in the game on a 33-yard run before the Tigers converted the two-point conversion.
East Juniata had little luck passing against Millersburg, collecting just 68 passing yards, 50 coming from the arm of Reed Bruner, who went 4 for 6 with an interception.
