SELINSGROVE — The PIAA Class AAA runner-up Selinsgrove Seals passed their first test of the season by edging Class AAA Wyoming Valley West 2-1 on Saturday in a nonleague season opener.
Ashley Youngman scored unassisted with 20:55 remaining in the second half to give Selinsgrove (1-0) a 2-0 lead. Jess Davis scored off a Paige Bordner assist midway through the first half for the Seals.
Mifflinburg 4, Benton 0
BENTON — Maddie Zickgraf assisted on a first-half goal by Brad Catherman and assisted on a second-half goal by Nicole Brouse as the Wildcats took the HAC interdivisional victory.
Sarah Shrawder and Abby Nolan tallied the other two goals for Mifflinburg (1-0).
Bloomsburg 3, Midd-West 1
BLOOMSBURG — The Panthers scored the first three goals of the game to put the Mustangs in a deep hole before they took the HAC interdivisional game.
Midd-West (0-1) broke the shutout with 9 minutes, 13 seconds left in the game as Jesse Schlief scored off an assist by Makayla Yoder.
Lewisburg Tournament
Lewisburg 2, Warrior Run 0
Lewisburg 5, Southern Columbia 3
LEWISBURG — Rachel Sumfest had three goals and two assists as the Green Dragons won their tournament championship.
Sumfest and Kelsey Knoster scored goals for Lewisburg (2-0) in the first game. Brodie Ercole, Sarah Talabiska and Anna Neuhard tallied goals for Lewisburg in the final.
Perry County Tournament
Greenwood 5, Susquenita 0
Greenwood 4, West Perry 0
ELLIOTTSBURG — Autumn Pellman scored four goals on the day to lead the Wildcats to the tournament championship.
Three of Pellman’s goals came in the final against West Perry, and she also assisted on the first goal for Greenwood (2-0).
Brittany Fleisher tallied two goals and Bev Ruhle had a goal and an assist for the Wildcats in the first game.

Selinsgrove 2, Altoona 0
LOCK HAVEN — Kaelan Sullivan helped account for both of the Seals’ goals as they beat the Mountain Lions for the championship at West Branch Soccer Club.
Sullivan scored off a Chris Lupolt assist for a first-half goal, before he assisted on Jake Newman’s tally midway through the second half.
Lupolt scored twice, including once off a penalty kick, to lead the Seals (2-0) to a first-round win over the Panthers.
Selinsgrove’s jayvee team won their tournament as well, beating Lewistown and Altoona.

Mifflinburg 3, BEA 1
MILL HALL — Andres Valencia scored a goal in each game, his second giving the Wildcats a two-goal lead in game two to lead Mifflinburg to the championship.
Dryden Yost assisted on Valencia’s second goal following a goal of his own to start the final. Michael Sterling later scored a goal to put the game away for Mifflinburg (2-0).

MANDATA — Jake Horan’s goal off an assist from Joe D’Andrea lifted the Red Tornadoes to the tournament championship.
In the first game for Northumberland Christian, John Hummel and Cody Ross got the goals and Hummel and Aaron Yorke had assists.

BELLEVILLE — Nick Calla scored early in the second overtime to give the Wildcats the championship victory.

SUNBURY — Jonathan Ruths made six saves for the Braves and Zack Malett had two for the Tigers, respectively, as the Heartland Athletic Conference interdivisional matchup ended in a scoreless tie.

COCOLAMUS — Becca Snee had a goal and two assists as the Braves took the nonleague season-opening victory.
Shikellamy (1-0) scored all its goals in the second half, with the other two coming from Alyssa Crowley and Shaina Harlos.

DANVILLE — Korrin Hackenberg and Jessica Paugh both scored goals to lead the Ironmen to the nonleague season-opening win.

MONTOURSVILLE — Brianna Spittler scored both goals to lead the Warriors to their tournament championship. Emily Lesher scored the goal for Lewisburg (1-1).
Loyalsock 2, Mount Carmel 1
MOUNT CARMEL — Aja Ungard scored a goal and later assisted on a goal by Robin VanDyke, both in the first half, to lead the Lancers to the HAC-II win.
Ranotta Ahrensfield scored unassisted for Mount Carmel (0-1).
Bellefonte Tournament
Brookville 0, Selinsgrove 0 (PKs)
Selinsgrove 4, Huntingdon 0
BELLEFONTE — After losing the first game on penalty kicks, the Seals rebounded against the Bearcats to take the consolation game of the Bellefonte Tournament.
Jenna Fisher assisted on a first-half goal by Marissa Heddings before scoring the second goal of the second half for Selinsgrove (1-1). Kelsey Heimbach and Brianna Brancato tallied two other goals in the second half for the Seals.
Brookville won the first-round game 3-1 on penalty kicks despite Selinsgrove leading in both shots (15-6) and corners (4-2). Cameron Weaver made six saves in the first game and five in the consolation for the Seals.
Meadowbrook Tournament
Meadowbrook 2, Col. Montour Vo-Tech 1
MILTON — Madison Burrows scored both of her team’s goals, leading the Lions to the championship.
Paige Friezma assisted on Burrows’ second goal for Meadowbrook (2-0).
GIRLS X-COUNTRY
Big Valley Invitational
LEWISTOWN — Led by Shannon Wright’s eighth-place finish, Lewisburg finished second overall and first among Class AA teams in the meet at Indian Valley Middle School.
Lewisburg totaled 121 points to 53 for winner State College.
Wright completed the 3.1-mile course in 20 minutes, 1 second. Also for the Green Dragons, Megan Wright was 21st in 21:11, Dana Stockdale was 25th in 21:18 and Caroline Graves was 29th in 21:30.
Forest Hill’s Leah Anne Wirfel won the race in 18:30.
BOYS X-COUNTRY
Big Valley Invitational
LEWISTOWN — All six of Lewisburg’s runners finished in the top 60 as the Green Dragons finished fourth overall and first among Class AA teams.
Lewisburg totaled 207 points, while Altoona won with 21.
Leading the Green Dragons were Sean Walker, who finished 32nd in 17:44; Luk Olenginski (36th, 17:48); Matthew Gordon (42nd, 17:56); and Thomas Toole (45th, 18:00). Altoona claimed the first three spots, and five out of the top 10. Wade Endress won in 16:03.

MILTON — Mandy Metzger’s three-set win at No. 2 singles prevented the Panthers from shutting out the Black Panthers.
