GIRLS BASKETBALL
MANDATA — Line Mountain wasn’t able to extend its strong start through the rest of the game as East Juniata escaped with a 47-42 Tri-Valley League victory Monday.
Sarah Lahr paced Line Mountain (4-10 overall) with 12 points and six steals. Colleen Troutman added 10 points and eight rebounds for the Eagles.
East Juniata, which outscored Line Mountain 41-30 after the first quarter, was led by 14 points from Lauren Maguire.
Halifax 68, Greenwood 32
HALIFAX — The Halifax Wildcats started the game with an 18-0 lead and they never looked back en route to the TVL win.
Madison Bingaman led Halifax (9-7, 8-2 TVL) with 12 points, while Tess Kieffer and Kylie Sorichetti added 11 points apiece.
Mallory Fortenbaugh led all scorers with 19 points for Greenwood (2-13, 2-8).
Lourdes Regional 41, Marian Catholic 38
TAMAQUA — Rachel Schultz tallied 15 points as the Red Raiders edged the Spartans for the Schuylkill League win. Nikki Komara added nine points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals for Lourdes (14-2 overall).
BOYS BASKETBALL
East Juniata 58, Midd-West 35
COCOLAMUS — Nick Lorenz and Dillon Leonard both knocked down three 3-pointers to finish in double figures in the nonleague win for the Tigers.
Lorenz scored a game-high 26 points and Leonard had 11 for East Juniata (12-3).
Marshall Dupuy had nine points to lead Midd-West (3-10).
Meadowbrook Chr. 55, Benton 44
MILTON — Meadowbook’s Tigers had a bit more bite than their feline counterparts from Benton and they took the nonleague win.
Four players scored in double figures for Meadowbrook (9-5), including Tyler Baughman and Austin Schott with 12 and 11 points, respectively. David Showers and Curtis Klodnicki added 10 points apiece for the winners.
Hayden Karchner led Benton (5-10) with 17 points.
