MIFFLINBURG —
Kaelan Sullivan has enjoyed his two trips to Mifflinburg this fall. Though you’ll forgive the good people of Mifflinburg if they don’t exactly give him a warm welcome on his next visit.
Sullivan, who kicked the winning field goal in Selinsgrove’s win at Mifflinburg in the football season opener, again provided the only points of the game in Thursday’s soccer match. Sullivan put a wicked cross into the box in the 78th minute, and it caromed off a Wildcats defender and into the back of the net as the Seals pulled out a 1-0 victory.
“When you send those (crosses) in, you hope someone gets it on (goal),” said Sullivan, who led the Seals’ football team to a 3-0 win over the Wildcats on Aug. 31. “Even if it’s someone on the other team.”
With the win, Selinsgrove (14-1 overall) improved to 11-1 in the Heartland Athletic Conference Division I.
