BOYS BASKETBALL

CATAWISSA -- The balanced attack of Southern Columbia was just too much for Selinsgrove as the Tigers took a 58-48 victory in a Heartland Athletic Conference interdivisional matchup on Wednesday.

Jared Hallick scored 13 points, Ian Stout had 11 as a total of eight players scored at least three points for Southern.

Alex Lupolt tallied 15 points to lead Selinsgrove (2-1).

n Lewisburg 62,

Bloomsburg 21

LEWISBURG -- Cam Cassels scored 13 points and Kyle Ranck had 10 as the Green Dragons easily beat the Panthers for the HAC-II victory.

Behind Cassels and Ranck, Lewisburg (3-2, 1-0 HAC-II) outscored Bloomsburg 24-5 in the first half and 41-9 after three quarters.

n Shamokin 59,

Blue Mountain 50

ORWIGSBURG -- Devon Craft's 21-point performance resulted in the Indians taking the nonleague win.

Craft tallied 16 of his points, including four of his five 3-pointers, in the third quarter as Shamokin (2-2) began to pull away. The Indians outscored Blue Mountain 21-6 in the period.

Brent Forbes added 11 points for Shamokin.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

n Lewisburg 48,

Mifflinburg 24

MIFFLINBURG -- The Green Dragons stayed undefeated on the season as they doubled up the Wildcats in a Heartland Athletic Conference crossover matchup.

Chelsea Boyer led Lewisburg (6-0) with 17 points. Jenny Meslener added 12 points and Emily Lesher had four points, nine rebounds, six assists and six blocks for the Green Dragons.

Mifflinburg (1-1) was led by Alexis Valentine's eight points.

n Towanda 66,

Danville 53

DANVILLE -- The Ironmen had three players score in double figures, but the Black Knights had enough to take the nonleague win.

Abby Woll and Sam Zampetti scored 15 points apiece to lead Danville (4-2), while Brooke Pierson added 12 for the Ironmen.

n Montoursville 44,

Warrior Run 43

TURBOTVILLE -- The Warriors outscored the Defenders by four points in the second quarter, and it was just enough to take the HAC-II win and give the hosts their first loss.

Shawnee Lutcher and Kristin Keiser both scored 15 points to lead Warrior Run (5-1).

n Blue Mountain 64,

Midd-West 32

MIDDLEBURG -- With six players all scoring between 8-11 points apiece, the Eagles doubled up the Mustangs in the scoring column to take the nonleague win.

Brittney Kuhns scored 10 points to lead Midd-West (0-3), which was playing without senior forward Christina DiBartolomeo for much of the game after she sprained her ankle in the first quarter.

WRESTLING

n Danville 63,

COCOLAMUS -- The Ironmen picked up eight pins as they cruised to the lopsided nonleague victory.

Getting the pins for Danville (1-2) were Steve Rosini (125), Kody Getkin (130), Travis Bordner (135), Zach Vanderslice (152), Garrett Llewellyn (160), Vlademir Hoeger (171), Dylan Daily (189) and Casey Klein (215).
