LEWISBURG — Emily Lesher, Jenny Meslener and Chelsea Boyer all scored at least 16 points as the Lewisburg girls basketball team pulled away from Mount Carmel for a 60-48 victory on Saturday in an early season battle of unbeatens in the HAC-II.
The Green Dragons (5-0, 1-0 HACII) took a seven-point lead at halftime and then finished it off by outscoring the Red Tornadoes (3-1, 0-1) by seven in the fourth quarter.
Lesher led all scores with 20 points while Meslener and Boyer each had 16.
Boyer hit both of Lewisburg’s 3-pointers.
T hree Red Tornadoes were also in double figures with Kim Andruscavage and Heather Bolick both scoring a dozen points. Danielle Bernini also had 11.
Sunbury Christian 63, Northumberland Christian 35
WINFIELD — After building a 10- point lead in the first half, Sunbury Christian finished off an ACAA victory with a flourish, outscoring Northumberland Christian by 15 points in the fourth quarter.
Molly Gutelius led three Eagles in double figures with 22 points, including 10-of-16 at the foul line. Rebecca Powlus added 16 and Taryn Borich 11 more for the Eagles (10-2, 3-0).
Alyssa Wenser led the Warriors (3-3, 1-1) with 17 points.
