Always a bridesmaid, never a ... finalist? No longer.
With a convincing twist on that old saw, Selinsgrove surged to its first PIAA Class AAA championship game with a 28-0 victory over Archbishop Wood at Hersheypark Stadium on Friday night.
Ryan Keiser hauled in two first-half touchdown passes, and the Seals defense was dominant as the team reached the state final for the first time in school history.
Selinsgrove will take on Manheim Central in the championship game Friday night, again at Hersheypark Stadium.
Selinsgrove has reached at least the PIAA quarterfinals eight times this decade, but this marks the Seals’ first trip to the title tilt.
