Nine Valley football teams will continue their seasons into the playoffs this week, including a Danville team making its first appearance in the postseason since 2003.

In District 4 Class A, Line Mountain's win over Pine Grove gave the Eagles the No. 1 seed and they will host Montgomery on Friday night. The Red Raiders moved past Muncy into fourth place by virtue of their win over South Williamsport and Muncy's loss to Hughesville.

Southern Columbia and Bloomsburg both won and finished 6-4, but the Panthers outpointed the Tigers 890-870 to grab the No. 2 seed and will host Southern on Friday night.

In District 3 Class A, Upper Dauphin will get a week off after winning the Twin Valley Conference title. Only seven teams in District 3 opted to participate, which gave the Trojans a week off.

In District 4 Class AA, Towanda held onto the top spot and will host Troy on Friday night. Hughesville grabbed the No. 2 seed and will host Athens, which got the higher seed over Loyalsock. The Wildcats and Lancers finished with 7-3 records and 960 points, but Loyalsock won the tie-breaker to earn the sixth seed.

Danville finished as the third seed and will host the Lancers on Friday night. Lewisburg is the fourth seed and will host Montoursville at 2:30 Saturday afternoon at Bucknell University.

In District 4 Class AAA, Shikellamy earned the No. 2 seed with its win over Mifflinburg and will host East Juniata on Friday night. Top seed Selinsgrove will host Columbia Montour Vo-Tech, also on Friday night.

Two Valley teams will also compete in the Eastern Conference playoffs. Mount Carmel will take on Schuylkill Valley in a Division II matchup, while Lourdes Regional, which opted out of the District 4 Class A playoffs, will take on Muncy. Times for the EC playoffs will be announced today.
