GIRLS BASKETBALL
SELINSGROVE -- Fueled by Kayla Lavella's game-high 22 points, Southern got out to a 13-point in the first half en route to a 65-56 non-league victory over Selinsgrove on Monday.
Mallory Tomaschik added 16 points and Mackenzie Clark chipped in 11 for Southern (1-0).
Laura Long tallied 14 points and pulled down nine rebounds to pace Selinsgrove (1-2), which also got 20 points from Kierstin Craig-Sovic.

Central Columbia 37
DANVILLE -- A young Danville team got a big boost from freshman Amber Renz, as her 14 points helped lift the Ironmen to the non-league win.
At one point in the third quarter Renz scored six straight points to give Danville (2-0) a 26-21 advantage and a lead the Ironmen wouldn't relinquish the rest of the game.
Lindsey Carl had 11 points for Central (0-2).
BOYS BASKETBALL
n Milton 48,
Central Columbia 46
MILTON -- Three players scored in double figures to help lead the Black Panthers to the non-league win.
Mike Jacobs scored 14 points to lead the way for Milton (1-2). Ethan Baker and Chad Diggan chipped in 11 and 10 points, respectively for the Black Panthers.
Payton Aucher led the Blue Jays (1-1) with 24 points.

Upper Dauphin 44
ELIZABETHVILLE -- The Wildcats shook off an ugly second quarter to hold on and beat the Trojans in a Tri-Valley League matchup.
Ryan Kerstetter scored 18 points and Josh Ferguson added 12 for Greenwood (1-2, 1-0 TVL), which was held to four points in the second period after the Wildcats outscored the Trojans 18-7 to start the game.
Austin A. Weaver had 12 points to lead Upper Dauphin (0-1 TVL).

MILLVILLE -- The Quakers built a 28-13 halftime lead en route to taking the non-league win. Graham Feaster tallied a game-high 22 points in the losing effort for Meadowbrook Christian (0-3).

COAL TOWNSHIP -- Led by Matt Savitski's 16 points, four players scored in double figures in the non-league victory for the Red Raiders.
Zack Oquendo added 12 points, Michael Menapace had 11 and Anthony Pennypacker chipped in 10 points for Lourdes (3-0).

MOUNT CARMEL -- Zack Wasilewski scored 10 points to lead a balanced offensive effort for the Red Tornadoes in their season-opening win over the Panthers. A total of eight players scored in the game for Mount Carmel (1-0).
