JOHNSTOWN -- Alyssa Wesner opened the 2012 season on a high note as she scored 32 points and pulled down 25 rebounds to lead Northumberland Christian to a 53-27 victory over Juniata Mennonite in a first-round game of the Bobby D. Memorial Tournament at Cambria County Christian School on Friday.
Northumberland (1-0), which outscored Juniata Mennonite 30-12 in the first half, next plays host Cambria County in the championship game today at a time to be determined.

HUNTINGDON -- Despite their comeback attempt in the fourth quarter, the Eagles were outscored by 16 points in the third to fall in a first-round game of the Huntingdon Christian Tournament.
Blake Spangler-Jones scored 26 points and Ashton Bartlett added 13 for Sunbury Christian, which plays either Dubois or Huntingdon in the consolation game today at 10 a.m.

JOHNSTOWN -- Four players scored in double figures to lead the Warriors to a first-round victory in the Bobby D. Memorial Tournament at Cambria County Christian School.
Gabriel Bahner had 16 points for Northumberland (1-0), while Damian Gittens and Ryan King both added 11 and Daniel Severn chipped in 10 for the Warriors, who play in today's championship game versus a team to be determined.
