Millionaires hold off Shikellamy boys

BOYS SOCCER

WILLIAMSPORT — Shikellamy was even with Williamsport in every area but the final score, as the Millionaires took a close 2-1 victory in a Heartland Athletic Conference Division I matchup Tuesday.

Trailing 2-0, Shikellamy (0-1-1, 0-1 HAC-I) was held scoreless until the 61st minute, when Chase McKean scored on a penalty kick.

Jonathan Ruths finished with six saves for the Braves, while Tanner Kreisher made five stops for the Millionaires (1-0, 1-0).



Danville 3, Shamokin 0

DANVILLE — The Ironmen got goals from three different players — Jeff Hauck, Jared Daku, Griffin Reber — to beat the Indians in a HAC interdivisional game. Danville improves to 1-0.



Midd-West 3, Mifflinburg 0

MIDDLEBURG — Woody Rittmiller, Jake Keister and Jaycen Goodling tallied the goals for the Mustangs in the HAC-I win.

Justin Shirk, Tyler Wilson, Cory Goss and Jeremy Payne all added assists for Midd-West (3-0, 1-0 HAC-I).

Mifflinburg is 2-1, 0-1.



Warrior Run 1, Milton 0

TURBOTVILLE — Elias George’s unassisted goal with 16:37 remaining in the first half was all that the Defenders needed to take the HAC-I victory.

Zach Mull made three saves to get the shutout for Warrior Run (3-0). Ryan Lahr stopped nine shots to lead Milton (0-3).



Line Mountain 3, Lourdes Regional 1

MANDATA — Falconer Walshaw-Wertz scored a pair of goals to lead the Eagles to the nonleague win. Line Mountain is 1-2.



Meadowbrook Chr. 2, Belleville Menn. 1 (OT)

MILTON — Jacob Pizzuto scored a goal and had an assist to lead the Lions to the nonleague win. Tarik LaRoche tallied the overtime goal for Meadowbrook.



GIRLS SOCCER

Sunbury Christian 4, Columbia County Chr. 3


BUCKHORN — Abby Daddario finished off a hat trick with a game-winner in the final minute to lift the Eagles to the ACAA victory.

After falling behind 2-0, Sunbury Christian (4-2, 2-0 ACAA) rallied to tie the game on first-quarter goals by Cierra Goss and Daddario. Daddario then scored in the second and again in the fourth quarter for the victory.



Northumberland Chr. 8, Juniata Mennonite 0

MIFFLINTOWN — Brooke Conklin recorded a hat trick in the first period as the Warriors rolled to the ACAA victory. Five different players scored the other goals for Northumberland Christian (5-0, 2-0 ACAA), including the first varsity goal from Tarahlee Hayner.



FIELD HOCKEY

Warrior Run 8, Milton 0


MILTON — Sarah Biddle and Marah Biddle combined to score five of the eight goals to lead the Defenders to the HAC interdivisional win.

Sarah Biddle scored the first two goals for Warrior Run (1-0), the first coming 22:34 left in the first half and the next 1:30 later. Sarah scored her third goal in the second half.

Marah Biddle scored both of her goals in the second half.

Lynn Vermilya, Allie Hartman and Marisa Oakes had the other goals for Warrior Run.



Bloomsburg 3, Shikellamy 0

BLOOMSBURG — The Panthers scored all three of their goals in the second half to take the HAC interdivisional victory. Shikellamy falls to 0-2 after an overtime loss to Central Columbia on Saturday.



BOYS X-COUNTRY

Danville takes sweep


MIDDLEBURG — Mason Moser’s ninth-place finish in 19 minutes, 39 seconds clinched the sweep of the meet for Danville (3-0). Sullivan County’s (2-1) Kelby Mullen won in 18:51 and the Ironmen’s Matt Byerly was second in 18:03.



Warrior Run wins five

BLOOMSBURG — Teammates Dan Isenberg and Theo Reynolds finished 1-2 to lead the Defenders to a sweep of the HAC interdivisional meet. Isenberg crossed the line in 17:56, and Reynolds finished in 18:47 for Warrior Run (5-0).



Lewisburg takes three

LEWISBURG — Selinsgrove’s Vince Fadale won easily, but Lewisburg had its top five runners place consecutively, with its top runner — Luk Olenginski — taking fourth in 18:39. Fadale finished in 16:52 for Selinsgrove (2-1). Lewisburg is 3-0.



GIRLS X-COUNTRY

Danville sweeps meet


MIDDLEBURG — The Ironmen claimed the top five spots and seven of the first 10 to run away with the HAC interdivisional meet. Ashley Daniels was first for Danville (3-0) in 22 minutes, 24 seconds.



Warrior Run wins easily

BLOOMSBURG — Two of the top three spots were taken by Milton, but Warrior Run went on to sweep the HAC inter-divisional meet. Yelena Share won for Milton (0-5) in 21:04. Megan Zettlemoyer was the top finisher for Warrior Run (5-0), as she was fourth in 22:59.



Lewisburg sweeps

LEWISBURG — Shannon Wright won by more than a minute and a half to lead the Green Dragons to the sweep of the quad meet. Lewisburg’s five runners all finished among the top eight runners.



GOLF

HAC-I


HUMMELS WHARF — An 82 from Ben Snyder and three 85s from Zach Stuck, Adam Winey and Blake Zechman propelled Midd-West to a 10-stroke win over Selinsgrove, 425-435, at Susquehanna Valley Country Club.

Rounding out the Mustangs’ quintet was Chris Will, who shot an 88 for the Mustangs (26-2).

Selinsgrove (25.5-2.5) was led by a 78 from Colin Rice and an 83 from Derrick Geedey.

Shikellamy (13.5-14.5) was fourth with a 450. The Braves were led by C.J. Tyler’s one-over-par 71.



HAC-II

DANVILLE — Central Columbia finished 12 shots better than rival and runner-up Danville to claim the match played at Frosty Valley Country Club.

Leading the Blue Jays (16-2) was C.J. Hollister and his 4-over-par 76. Robbie Seebold fired a 77 to pace Danville (14.5-3.5).



HAC-III

MILTON — Southern Columbia had Zach Mallett and Taylor Kreisher both shoot in the 70’s to take the victory at Wynding Brook Golf Club.

Mallett shot a 76 and Kreisher a 78 for Southern, which had a team score of 424 to beat runner-up Warrior Run’s 441. David Hitesman fired a 79 to pace Warrior Run.



GIRLS TENNIS

Williamsport 5, Shikellamy 0


SUNBURY — The Millionaires won tough, three-set matches at both No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles to pull out the Heartland Athletic Conference Division I victory. Williamsport improves to 5-0 and Shikellamy falls to 1-4.



Danville 5, Central Columbia 0

ALMEDIA — A three-set win by Montanah James and Katharine Baum at No. 2 doubles sealed the Ironmen’s HAC interdivisional win. James and Baum defeated Lewissa Barndt and Katie Maynard, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 for Danville (3-3).



Montoursville 3, Milton 2

MONTOURSVILLE — The Black Panthers won the first two singles matches, including the first in three sets, but it wasn’t enough to win the HAC-I match. Milton falls to 0-6.
