GIRLS SOCCER
HUGHESVILLE -- Laura Bastian had a goal and an assist from her center-back position to lead Warrior Run to a 3-0 victory over Hughesville in Heartland-II action Thursday.
Bastian's goal came on a penalty kick 15 minutes, four seconds into the game to give Warrior Run (3-0 overall and HAC-II) a 2-0 lead. Emily Potter and Taylor Landis scored the other goals for the Defenders.
"I thought the midfield with Chloe Eisenhuth and Sarah Grow played a solid game in the middle," said Warrior Run coach Jen Allen, who also got four saves from Olivia George in the shutout.

LEWISBURG -- Emily Cole scored twice in the first half, and Lauren Gargano had two assists in the Green Dragons' HAC-I win.
In addition to an own-goal in the first half, Jenna Farmer and Elke Velz scored in the second half for Lewisburg (2-0 overall and HAC-I).

MONTOURSVILLE -- Carly Mills and Lana Spitler both had a goal and an assist to lead the Warriors to the HAC-I victory.
Kayla Swartz scored off an assist from Jenna Fisher midway through the second half for Selinsgrove (4-1, 2-1 HAC-I).

WILLIAMSPORT -- Haley Bingaman's goal off an assist from Sam Poff was all that the Braves mustered against the Millionaires, as the HAC-I matchup ended in a tie. Jessie Miller made six saves for Shikellamy).

JERSEY SHORE -- Elizabeth Kapushinski and Brandi Segura both scored in the first half to lead the Indians to the HAC-II win. Shamokin improves to 3-1 overall.

CATAWISSA -- The Tigers dominated the statistics and pulled away with two second-half goals.
Jensen Kremser, Bailey Bzdak and Haley Levan scored for Southern, which had a 19-2 advantage in shots and 7-0 in corner kicks.

TOWER CITY -- Goalkeepers Corina Finlan and Emily Schrawder combined to make 24 saves for the Eagles, but it wasn't enough as the Vikings took the nonleague win. Line Mountain falls to 2-3.

ALTOONA -- Katie Benfer, only an eighth grader, scored five goals as the Lions cruised to the nonleague win. Madison Burrows added a hat trick for Meadowbrook is 4-2.

BLOOMSBURG -- Abby Daddario scored twice in the first half and Faith Gingrich tallied two second-half goals in the nonleague win for the Eagles, who improve to 2-3-1.

SELINSGROVE -- David Aurand's much-needed insurance goal with 17 minutes left in the game clinched the Seals' HAC-I victory.
Aurand finished with a hat trick and he also had an assist for Selinsgrove (6-0, 4-0 HAC-I). Kaelan Sullivan had a pair of assists for the Seals.

COCOLAMUS -- The Tigers spread the scoring around as seven players got at least one point to result in the TVL win. Jake Sankey scored twice, while Nick Lorenz had two assists in the second half for EJ (5-1, 4-0 TVL).

HALIFAX -- A hat trick by Josh Ferguson lifted Greenwood to the Tri-Valley League victory.

MANDATA -- The Eagles scored all of their goals in the second half of their Tri-Valley League win, including a pair from Sarah Schwartz that were scored within two minutes of each other.

LANCASTER -- Kenzie Wirth had a hand in four of the Wildcats' six goals, leading them to the nonleague win. Wirth scored once, and assisted on goals from Mallory Fortenbaugh in the first half, plus Brittany Fleisher and Katie Barton in the second half for Greenwood (5-0-1).
