With the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, often it is hard to eat well.
The easiest foods to access or prepare are usually the worst ones for us. Following are some tips to help you eat more nutritiously.
n Cook in larger quantities. If you are cooking a nutritious meal, make enough for several meals. Store it in the refrigerator for later in the week. Reheating a nutritious meal will take practically no time.
n Stock your cupboards and fridge with healthy, nutritious foods. Eliminate or limit junk food in your house. The harder it is to get to the bad foods, the less likely you will eat them.
n Eat 25 percent or more of your food raw. Things such as almonds, vegetables, and fruits can be eaten raw. This cuts preparation time and ensures that they have the most nutritional value.
n Make sure you always have nutritional snacks on hand. This will help keep you from grabbing fast food or junk food when you are on the go.
n Prepare your breakfast and lunch the night before. This will save you time and often calories. Just make sure you are preparing the most nutritionally sound meals possible.
n Make sure you have a full stomach when grocery shopping. The more hungry you are while shopping, the more likely you are to make bad food choices.
n Limit processed foods. The more processed something is, the less nutritional value it will have. You want to look for more whole foods.
These are just a few tips to help you eat more nutritiously. If you have any tips of your own, send them my way and I'll share them with everyone else.
