LEWISBURG — Alice Meng and Lily Hussar won a three-setter at No. 2 doubles to highlight Lewisburg’s 4-1 Heartland Athletic Conference Division II victory over South Williampsort on Monday.
In singles action, the Green Dragons (2-1) got straight-set victories from Laura Sprunt and Claire Smyth to take a quick lead. The No. 2 doubles tandem of Shirley Chu and Jamie Ptacek finished it off with a straight-set win.
At the first doubles slot, Meng and Hussar won the opening set 7-5 over South Williamsport’s Alex Geise and Mackenzie Hengler, before dropping the second set 6-3. Meng and Hussar then breezed 6-1 in the final set to secure Lewisburg’s final point.
Jersey Shore 4, Milton 1
JERSEY SHORE — Mandy Metzger picked up an easy point for the Black Panthers at No. 2 singles in the Heartland Athletic Conference Division I match.
Metzger dropped just one game in a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Melissa Bass to give the Milton (0-3) its lone point. At No. 3 singles, Milton’s Merissa Gray rallied after dropping the first set to win the second set 7-6, 7-2 in the tiebreak, only to fall in a third-set tiebreak.
Williamsport 4, Selinsgrove 1
WILLIAMSPORT — The Seals’ No. 2 doubles team of Katie Kirchner and Frankie Damiano battled through a tough two-set victory to give Selinsgrove its lone point in the HAC-I match.
Kirchner and Damiano took a straight set, 6-3, 6-3 victory for the Seals (0-3).

Northumberland Chr. 5, Muhlenberg Christian 0
NORTHUMBERLAND — Brooke Conklin scored two goals in the first period, both off assists from Alyssa Wesner, to lead the Warriors to the season-opening nonleague win.
Elyse Wolff, Bethany Conklin and Bethany Severn tallied the other goals for Northumberland Christian (1-0).

Northumberland Chr. 9, Muhlenberg Christian 1
NORTHUMBERLAND — The Warriors scored three goals in each of the first and second periods to take a 6-0 halftime lead and the season-opening nonleague win.
Caleb Scanzillo scored two goals and had an assist, while Aaron York had two goals and his brother, Nathaniel, tallied one goal and three assists for Northumberland Christian (1-0).
