HALIFAX — Upper Dauphin rallied with two fourth-quarter touchdowns to edge Halifax 19-15 in the Twin Valley Conference opener for both teams Friday night.
Trailing 15-6 after three quarters, the Trojans (2-0 overall, 1-0 TVC) came back behind Tyler Grosser’s six-yard scoring run to make it 15-12. Upper Dauphin started the game-winning drive at its own 38-yard line, moving 62 yards. Cody Hoffman ran in from 14 yards out with 6:18 remaining, and Tyler Payne’s extra point provided the final margin.
Grosser carried 20 times for 163 yards for the Trojans, including 93 yards on nine carries in the pivotal fourth quarter. Cody Cooper rushed eight times for 43 yards for Upper Dauphin, which finished with 222 yards on 35 carries. In two games, Grosser now has 353 yards and four touchdowns.
Halifax took an 8-0 lead in the first quarter on Dustin Ramberger’s one-yard TD run and his two-point conversion pass to Pat Kushla. Grosser cut the margin to 8-6 when he rumbled in from 17 yards out, but Halifax took a 15-6 lead into halftime when quarterback Reece Gonsar scored on a 49-yard run in the second quarter.
Dustin Ramberger led the Wildcats (0-2, 0-1 TVC) on the ground with 12 rushes for 96 yards, while Dillan Ramberger added 55 yards on 11 carries. Gonsar had 55 yards on 15 rushes.
