A couple of months ago, a group of people joined my newest accountability program. This is our progress after seven weeks. I started with 12 and nine are still active in the program. Of those nine, all have lost weight. I have the numbers for six of those nine. For those six, weights lost are 30, 18, 16, 15, 12, and 12 pounds.
The reason I share this with you is to show that it can be done. This program is not difficult. I instituted some simple changes into their lives. All that I asked of them was to follow the simple directions. I would be there to give them the road-map, answer questions, and keep them accountable. The rest they did on their own.
The basic rules are (and I've told you these before):
1. Sound Nutrition. No drastic dieting, but just eat smart.
2. Moderate Aerobic Exercise. Burn those calories, but you don't need to spend three hours on the treadmill.
3. Add and Maintain Muscle. Too many people worry about "bulking up," but that's not very likely to happen (besides, you lose muscle mass as each year passes).
4. Consistency. You need to stay consistent. There will be set-backs, but you need to pick up right where you left off and not quit.
See, it can be done. Anyone can do it; you just have to believe it.
