SELINSGROVE — Shady Nook, along the beautiful Susquehanna River, was the setting for the wedding of Cheri Lynn Long and Robert Scott Cook. The Rev. Breen Marie Sipes performed the ceremony uniting the couple on Aug. 6, 2011.
The bride is the daughter of Ray and Janet Long; the bridegroom is the son of Alvie and Nancy Cook, all of Selinsgrove.
Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore an antique necklace belonging to her late grandmother, LaRue Shambach. The bridesmaids were Tina Doebler, the bride’s sister, Marcy Catherman and Roz Erb, and Morgan Cook, the bridegroom’s niece. Rylee Doebler served as the flower girl for her aunt.
Serving as groomsmen were Doug and Alvie Cook, the bridegroom’s brothers, Brian Catherman, and Drevin Doebler, the bride’s nephew. Spencer Cook was ring bearer for his uncle.
Following the ceremony, an outdoor celebration was held at the same location.
The newlyweds honeymooned by touring the sights of Arizona and California’s wine country and now reside in Selinsgrove.
The bride is a teacher at Selinsgrove High School, Her husband is the manager of Friedman Electric, Selinsgrove.
