POCONOS — Beach Lake in the Poconos was the setting for the June 9, 2012, ceremony uniting Kelsi Balum and Steven Forster in marriage.
The bride is the daughter of Lon and Elaine Balum, of Herndon. The bridegroom is the son of Pat Dunlap, of Birmingham, Ala. and Debi and Ray Forster, of York, Pa.
The bride, given in marriage by her parents, chose her cousin, Brooke Tressler, as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Laura Michael, Lyndsey Michael, and Dustie Day, cousins of the bride, and Heather Platzer, Ali Platzer, and Madison Forster, sisters of the bridegroom. Flower girls were Ellie Tressler and Addie Forster.
Serving as best man for his brother was Patrick Forster. Groomsmen were Kellon Balum, brother of the bride, David Platzer, brother of the bridegroom, Shawn Grahe, Kevin Leavenworth, and Dan McGannon. Ring bearers were Aiden Tressler, Kahner Tressler, and Kyle Bonner.
Children’s processional included Caden Carson, Avril Kagan, Olivia Kagan, Jaya London, Cydney Lahr, and Samantha Forster. Marsha Michael and Jade London were vocalists.
Family choir members included Rosanne Carson, Darrell and Beverly Byerly, Dane and Denise Ferster, Jade London, and Marsha Michael.
Butterflies were released at the end of the ceremony in memory of the bride and bridegroom’s grandfathers, Bruce Kiehl, Conrad Balum, Stewart Dunlap, and Ray Forster.
A reception for 200 guests followed the lakeside wedding at the Central House Resort Carriage House.
The bride is a graduate of Shippensburg University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in social work. She is a drug and alcohol intervention specialist in Cumberland County.
The bridegroom is a graduate of Shippensburg University with a bachelor of arts degree in history and a master’s degree in organizational development. He is employed by the Navy Depot in Mechanicsburg as a contract specialist.
Following a honeymoon to Jamaica, the couple is living in the Carlisle area.
