MIFFLINBURG — Franklin and Helen Raker, of Mifflinburg, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Nov. 3, 2011. A family dinner was held on Nov. 5 at Carriage Corner to celebrate the happy event. The former Helen Catherman married Franklin on Nov. 3, 1941 in Millmont with the Rev. Green Shively officiating.
Frank retired from American Home Foods, Milton, after 34 years. Helen worked at the Laurelton Center and retired from Huntingdon Throwing Mills. The couple have six children, Evelyn, wife of Donald Miller, Daniel, husband of Nancy Raker, Elizabeth Betz, and Clarence Raker, all of Mifflinburg; Carol, wife of Bob Shively, of Indiana, Pa., and Mary, wife of Ed Martin, of Millheim.
They have 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren to complete their family circle.
They have enjoyed attending country and western music shows, putting together puzzles and playing cards with family.
